In other words, they are #goals. Three local momfluencers let us into their worlds and shared their hacks for living your best life.

Finding balance

For toddler mom Kabello Mohale, leading a full and happy life requires balancing body and mind in equal share. Mohale, who has built an enormous following on social media, promotes living life fully by prioritising mental and spiritual well-being.

Her advice? “Be aware of your present moment while calmly acknowledging and embracing your feelings, thoughts, and physical well-being. Think breathing, being in nature, praying, meditating, and journaling.”

Prioritising health

Fitness and nutrition expert and mom to an active four-year-old boy Tracy McGregor says it is all about taking care of your body in today’s fast-paced world. The Cosmopolitan cover model’s social media pages are filled with inspiring content that puts health and wellness first, and she often shows her workouts and exercise techniques.

“Make fitness a habit,” advises McGregor, who believes the only bad workout is the one that never happened.

While sweating it out is important to McGregor, for her, a healthy mind is where the action starts. She keeps herself going with the mantra by Jim Ryuin: “Motivation is what gets you started, habit is what keeps you going.”

“It’s about perseverance, patience and being kind to yourself every day. Be proud of yourself in every part of your journey, no matter where you are.”

Mastering money

When it comes to practical ways to manage your money matters, personal finance expert Mapalo Makhu is the momfluencer to follow.

The author of You’re Not Broke, You’re Pre-Rich doesn’t gatekeep the keys to her financial success, regularly sharing nuggets of wisdom, advice and tips on saving and investing.

When it comes to dealing with debt, Makhu poses four Cs: curiosity, compassion, community and consciousness.

“Be curious about how your life would look like without debt. Have compassion with yourself; forgive yourself for past money mistakes, that’s how you move forward. Try to lean into your community or get an accountability partner. Lastly, be conscious of your spending habits.”
