What happens to my points when I change membership option?
When you move from one tiered option to another (ie Reality Core to Reality Plus) your points and tier status will remain in place. Should you move to a non-tiered option such as Reality Club, you will forfeit all points accrued up to that point.
How do I earn tier status points?
There are a number of ways to earn tiering points in the following categories:
- Your Wealth Sense engagement (tools, calculators, quizzes and more)
- Your health and fitness activities (gym visits, sports events and more)
- Your membership programme activity (registration, updated details, membership option changes and special offers)
- Your total Sanlam portfolio

Where can I see how many points I’ve earned?
Once you are logged in to the Sanlam Reality website, your tiering status and points earned will appear in a side panel on the right-hand side of the page. It will also show you how many points you still need to earn to move up to the next tier status the following year.
How is my tier status calculated?
Your tier status is calculated by earning points throughout a calendar year. At the end of the calendar year, the points you have earned in that year will determine your tier status (Bronze, Silver or Gold) for the following year. The table below indicates the points needed to move up the tiering table.

The first calendar year for tiering will be from 1 October 2015 to 31 December 2016; thereafter the programme will calculate points over a 12-month calendar year (ie 1 January 2017 to 31 December 2017).
From 1 October 2015 to 31 December 2016, all existing Reality Plus members will automatically be allocated to the Silver tier status and all existing Reality Core members will automatically be allocated to the Bronze tier status. All new members who join the programme from 1 October 2015 will be allocated to the Bronze tier regardless of their membership option.
What is an early Tier Status upgrade?
An early Tier Status upgrade provides Reality members on the Reality Core and Plus options to qualify for a higher tier status before the regular qualification period ends. This is achieved by completing tier activities sooner than the qualification period of one calendar year.
For example: Moving from Bronze to Silver or Silver to Gold.
How can I qualify for an early Tier Status upgrade?
To qualify for an early Tier Status upgrade, members must acquire the minimum points required for the next tier level:
- Single members will need 30,000 tier points to qualify for Silver tier status and 60,000 tier points to qualify for Gold tier status.
- Family members will need 50,000 tier points to qualify for Silver tier status and 100,000 tier points to qualify for Gold tier status.
When will I see my Tier Status upgrade take place?
The Sanlam Reality Tier Status upgrade commences during the first week (3-5 business days) of every month for the previous month’s tier activities and will reflect in the new month.
Can I request an early Tier Status upgrade manually?
No, an early Tier Status upgrade is automatically applied once all tier activities are completed.
How will I know if I qualify for an early Tier Status upgrade?
Sanlam Reality members will receive an email notification once their tier status has been updated, and they can view their updated tier statement by logging into their Sanlam Reality account.
