How do I use the Emergency Medical Response benefit?

You can use this benefit by calling 0860 732 548/9 seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Follow the voice prompts for this benefit.

Does this benefit apply outside of South Africa?

Emergency Medical Services will only be provided within the borders of the Republic of South Africa.

What is considered a medical emergency?

A medical emergency is regarded as an injury or an illness that threatens human life and which requires immediate medical intervention to preserve life.

What types of medical queries can the Emergency Medical Response team assist with?

You will be able to speak to medical and nursing practitioners on the phone, who can assist with medical information that include:

  • General medical advice;
  • Chemical substance misuse or abuse;
  • Data concerning referrals to hospitals, doctors, dentists and pharmacies;
  • Medical travel information and advice;
  • Generic medicine advice;
  • Provider information and/or referral where applicable.

The information will not be regarded as accurate diagnoses of any physical conditions.

Can I call on behalf of someone who is not a Wealth Bonus Lifestyle for Sanlam Corporate member?
