According to job portal Career Junction’s 2018 Salary Review, which used over 17 000 monthly wage offerings on its site between May and November 2018, these are the sectors in which salaries are on the rise.

According to Career Junction, location is just as important when it comes to salary increases. Based on insights from May to November 2018, these are the top areas where you’re more likely to get a pay bump:
- Architecture & engineering: Gauteng (+3-9%*)
- Building & construction: Gauteng (4-6%)
- Warehousing & logistics: Western Cape (+5-8%)
- IT: Gauteng or Western Cape (+10-12%)
- Medical & health: Gauteng (+0-1%)
- Finance: Gauteng (+6-7%)
- Marketing: Gauteng (+4-5%)
- Sales: Gauteng (+1-3%)
- Admin, office & support: Gauteng (+11-14%)
