General rules apply to all competitions

  • As a Sanlam Reality member, you can enter our competitions, but only once via email per competition.
  • Sanlam Reality is not responsible for any fulfilment, inquiry, or health-related problem resulting either directly or indirectly from winning or using a prize, or for any other claim related to a prize sponsored by a partner or for any claim whatsoever.
  • Specific terms and conditions apply to certain prizes. Prizes can differ from their images. Images used are purely for illustrative purposes.
  • No late entries will be accepted.
  • Once a winner has been selected and there is difficulty in contacting the winner, Sanlam Reality will attempt to contact the winner telephonically for seven days. If after day seven the selected winner still cannot be reached, Sanlam Reality has the right to select another winner in the place of the previous winner. No late correspondence is entered into.
  • Sanlam Reality has the right to withdraw a competition or change a prize at any time.
  • By entering any competition, entrants agree to be bound by the competition’s rules.
  • The winner/s will be drawn through a random selection process. The competition results and draw will be overseen by an independent auditor.
  • The prize cannot be transferred or exchanged for its cash value. The prize excludes any other expenses incurred by the winner when participating in any competition.
  • Winners consent to their name, image, and likeness being used and published by Sanlam Reality in connection with the competition, at the sole discretion of Sanlam Reality. Winners also acknowledge that they will have no claim against Real Futures for usage in this regard.
  • Sanlam Reality will only use the winner’s details for the purpose of the competition and will protect the winner/s personal information as required by relevant laws and the constitution of the RSA.
  • Competitions are only open to persons residing in South Africa. Competition winners must be active Sanlam Reality members. Sanlam Reality reserve the right to withhold any prize until it is entirely satisfied that the claimant of the prize is the bona fide winner, and reserves the right to call for such proof as it may deemed necessary.
  • Prizes not claimed within 60 days will be subject to a new draw, and may be dealt with by Sanlam Reality in any manner deemed fit.
  • Competitions are not open to Sanlam Reality employees and their immediate families, advertising and promotions agencies, outlet owners and their immediate families and staff.
  • The judges’ decisions on all competitions are final. No correspondence will be entered into in respect of any aspect relating to a competition.

Eligibility and exclusions

  • Sanlam Reality is accessible to everyone. South African citizens must register using a valid South African identity number, while individuals born outside of South Africa are required to provide their valid passport details.

Options and fees

  • When you sign the application form to join Sanlam Reality, or when you give your verbal consent to join Sanlam Reality on a voice-recorded phone call, you confirm that Sanlam Reality is authorised to draw the fees due for your Sanlam Reality membership against your bank account or roll-up your membership fee into your latest Sanlam Personal Finance premium as follows:
    • Reality Plus Single membership: R289 per month (including VAT)
    • Reality Plus Family membership: R359 per month (including VAT)
    • Reality Core Single membership: R129 per month (including VAT)
    • Reality Core Family membership: R169 per month (including VAT)
    • Reality Club membership: R59 (including VAT), deducted on the first of every month.
  • As a paying Sanlam Reality member, your benefits are subsidised by Sanlam Reality.
  • You understand and confirm your acceptance that these authorised withdrawals are processed by computer through the ACB Magnetic Tape Service/Debit Order/Multi-Data system.
  • You understand and confirm your acceptance that details of each withdrawal are printed on your bank statement or on an accompanying voucher.
  • You agree to pay any bank charges relating to this ACB Magnetic Tape Service/Debit Order/Multi-Data instruction.
  • You understand that the collection of Sanlam Reality membership fees takes place on the date initially chosen by you and then monthly thereafter.
  • You understand that, if it is possible for Sanlam Reality to consolidate the membership fees with an existing monthly debit-order instruction in favour of a member of the Sanlam Group against the same bank account, it is authorised to do so. Total SL Debit or Real Futures (Pty) Ltd will reflect on your bank statements. If you later cancel or change your monthly debit-order instruction with which the Sanlam Reality debit-order instruction was consolidated, Sanlam Reality is entitled, once again, to consolidate these amounts due, if this is possible. If the consolidation of these Sanlam Reality membership fees with an existing monthly debit order is not possible, these amounts are deducted via a separate monthly debit order.
  • You may cancel this authority by giving Sanlam Reality 30 (thirty) days’ notice in writing. You understand and accept that you are not entitled to any refund of amounts that was withdrawn while this authority was in force, if such amounts were legally owing to Sanlam Reality.
  • You agree to advise Sanlam Reality, in writing, of any changes that may occur in your banking details.

Refunds:

  • Where a client disputes a debit of premiums from Reality (Real Futures) on their bank account, and the client has not utilised any benefits, premium refunds will be limited as follows:
    • Where premiums have been deducted for less than 5 years, the refund will be limited to a maximum of the last 12 months’ premiums received.
    • Where premiums have been deducted for a period of five to 10 years, the refund will be limited to the last 24 months’ premiums received.
    • Where premiums have been deducted for more than 10 years, the refund will be limited to the last 36 months’ premiums received.
  • No interest will be payable in addition to the abovementioned amounts.
  • Any other claims for premium refunds will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, and in those cases, the normal principles regarding prescription will apply.

Family membership options

  • Principal members may join the Family membership options available on Reality Plus and Reality Core and thereby extend the Sanlam Reality benefits to their dependants. For the purposes of the Family membership options, dependants include spouses and common-law spouses, as well as children and stepchildren who are registered on the qualifying medical aids, or who are aged 21 years and under.
  • Dependants will each receive their own membership card and membership number. These individual membership numbers will still be linked to the principal member’s Sanlam Reality number.
  • Dependants will be able to book benefits in their own right; note, however, that certain benefits have their own requirements in terms of age restrictions.
  • Sanlam Reality recommends that only dependants over the age of 18 book benefits in their own right.
  • Dependants will also be able to register on Sanlam Secure Services.
  • Tier points earned by dependants are allocated to the principal member’s tier status and are subject to caps as stipulated for the Family membership options.

Login options and information collection

  • Members must be logged in to use the benefits featured on the website.
  • Members have two login options available:
    • Basic login: This login method gives members limited access to most benefits and functionality. To log in, use your Sanlam Reality membership number or ID number.
    • Preferred login: This more secure login method gives members full access to all benefits and functionality. This login method requires that members register for Sanlam Secure Services to create a username and password. The username and password for Sanlam Secure Services will be the same username and password used for Sanlam Reality’s preferred login. Click here to register.
  • If you call the Sanlam Reality Call Centre at 0860 732 548/9, you may be asked for certain information, such as your Sanlam Reality membership number. However, there will never be any reason for anybody – not even the call centre agents – to know your Sanlam Secure Services/Sanlam Reality preferred login username and password. Do not, under any circumstances, provide your username and password. If you believe that your user username and password have been lost, stolen or compromised, please change the username and password on Sanlam Secure Services.
  • Any delay in notifying Sanlam Secure Services is regarded as either willful intent or negligence on your part. Sanlam Secure Services or Real Futures are not responsible for any transactions performed without your knowledge or consent, and Real Futures is not liable for any loss, of any nature, that you may suffer as a result.

  • Information collection: To monitor and improve the website, Sanlam Reality may use technology to gather information about your use of the website including details of your operating system, browser version, domain name, and IP address (the IP address is a string of numbers that tells us which server you are using but does not identify you). The process of gathering the information as described immediately above uses a technology known as “cookies”. If you do not wish us to collect the information do not click the ‘Remember me’ button when you login.

Welcome packs

  • Your welcome pack will include your Sanlam Reality card and Sanlam Reality programme book. It may take up to six weeks before you receive your welcome pack, as this depends on the South African Post Office. However, you do not need to wait for your welcome pack and membership card to start using your benefits since your welcome email and SMS will contain your Sanlam Reality membership number. You can start using your benefits as soon as you receive your membership number.
  • You may use most of your benefits by logging on to the Sanlam Reality website (www.sanlamreality.co.za) with your membership number (see above) or your ID number. Alternatively you can call us on 0860 732 548/9, quote your membership number or ID number and start using your benefits straightaway.
  • If you have not received your welcome pack after six weeks, please contact 0860 732 548/9.

Personal use of benefits

  • Any benefit provided by, through, or on behalf of any Sanlam Reality partner (“partner”) or on the basis of membership of Sanlam Reality is for your sole and exclusive personal use only, if your membership fees are paid-up (“members”).
  • Unless expressly provided for, you are not allowed to use, either directly or indirectly, or are entitled to access any Sanlam Reality benefit (“benefit”) for the use of any person other than yourself. In particular, you are not allowed to use, either directly or indirectly, any benefit in any way whatsoever for the benefit of any business you may operate or any agent, employee, subcontractor, client, or customer and the like of any such business or any of your business associates.
  • No person or entity is allowed to use, either directly or indirectly, or be entitled or authorised to use any benefit on the basis of any association of whatever nature to you.
  • Real Futures may, immediately, without notice and without incurring any liability whatsoever to you or to any third party, terminate your membership of Sanlam Reality and, where applicable, the membership of any person acting for or acting on behalf of you whenever any benefit is used by any person or entity not entitled to do so.
  • Own risk and indemnity: You fully understand and accept that the use of any the benefits offered by any partner are undertaken at your and, where applicable an authorised person’s, own risk. You, on behalf of yourself, your executors, and aforesaid authorised persons, hereby indemnify Real Futures and each member of the Sanlam Group, and their respective officers, employees, and agents against all claims whatsoever that may arise in connection with any loss of or damage to the property of or death, disability, or injury to you or aforesaid authorised persons in the course of any use of the benefits. You agree and confirm your acceptance that any claim, of whatever nature, is instituted only against the partner concerned.

Cancellations

  • You may end your membership of Sanlam Reality on 30 (thirty) days’ prior notice to Sanlam Reality via fax (021 700 8750), email (info@sanlamreality.co.za), phone (0860 732 548/9) or letter. This means that you will still be liable for one month’s membership fee.
  • Sanlam Reality may end your membership of Sanlam Reality at any time, for any reason whatsoever eg when you give us false information. In such event, Sanlam Reality is not liable for any loss, of any nature, suffered by you or any third party.
  • Benefits available through Sanlam Reality are no longer available to you when your membership of Sanlam Reality ends, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Programme communication

  • Sanlam Reality uses the contact details you provided to communicate with you. It is your responsibility to make sure that your contact details at Sanlam Reality are current and valid. Sanlam Reality is not liable for any loss, of any nature, you may suffer because of your contact details not being current or valid. You can contact Sanlam Reality on 0860 732 548/9 or email info@sanlamreality.co.za to update your contact details.

The Offer:
Sanlam Reality Club, Core, and Plus members can claim a free entry voucher for the 2026 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.

  • Vouchers are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Vouchers are available for the 10km Peace Run (SA) and 42km (SA) races.
  • Sanlam Reality Club, Core and Plus members can claim their voucher on the Sanlam Reality website up until 20 March 2026 or while stock lasts.
  • Single membership entitles you to one voucher.
  • Family membership entitles you to two vouchers.
  • Only the main member may issue the voucher.

How to redeem you Sanlam Cape Town Marathon voucher?

  • For Marathon entries – click here
  • For Peace Run entries – click here
  • Copy and paste the code(exactly) in the Redeem a promo code box, where it says enter a promo code.
  • Select Apply
  • Once the code has been applied, a R0.00 (promo/100% discount) ticket will appear below the promo code box. It is important to select this specific ticket, to redeem a free entry instead of paying for one.
  •  Select the + button and continue (option will show on the right) to fully complete the entry and submit all details.

The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon vouchers will expire on  20 March 2026. After this date, the voucher will no longer be redeemable.

No upgrades, downgrades or substitutions will be facilitated.

It is your responsibility to select the correct voucher for the specific race.
