Planet Fitness Gym

Reality Plus and Reality Core terms and conditions

  • Sanlam Reality members qualify for monthly discounts or cash rewards provided that their Sanlam Reality and gym memberships are active, and that they are not in arrears with their fees.
  • Discount amounts will vary and are dependent on whether members have any qualifying Sanlam products or not. Members without any qualifying Sanlam products will receive a lower discount.
  • You will be required to pay a once-off activation fee of R975 and a Planet Fitness tag fee of R150 when you join Planet Fitness through Sanlam Reality.
  • If you are an existing Planet Fitness member, you will still be required to pay the abovementioned once-off activation fee and tag fee in order to use the Sanlam Reality discount.
  • You will sign agreements with both Sanlam Reality and your gym. When you join the gym, you will be required to give the gym your personal details and financial details, including your bank details for debit order purposes.
  • If you wish to cancel your gym membership, you must do so at both the gym and at Sanlam Reality. The gym determines its own cancellation rules and fees. A calendar month’s notice period applies to members wishing to cancel or change their Sanlam Reality membership option, with fees payable in the notice month. Discounts will still apply if members qualify for payment according to the Sanlam Reality rules.
  • Members qualify for monthly discounts provided that their Sanlam Reality and gym memberships are active, and that they are not in arrears with their Sanlam Reality and gym fees.
  • The monthly discount for Reality members with a qualifying Sanlam product is calculated using a three-month average of your monthly gym visits. The maximum discount payable every month is R500 per active paying member or spouse and/or dependants.
  • The monthly discount for Reality members without any qualifying Sanlam product is 40% off their first three months. Thereafter, they’ll get a 20% discount on their monthly gym visits.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure that your gym visits are recorded accurately each time you visit your gym. If you visit the gym more than once a day, only one visit will be counted for discount purposes.
  • Sanlam Reality may cancel the upfront discount on gym membership if the bank rejects your debit order payments. You will not be entitled to further discounts in the event of bank payment rejections.

Reality Club, Wealth Bonus Lifestyle and Wealth Bonus Lifestyle for Sanlam Corporate terms and conditions:

    • You will be required to pay an activation fee of R250 and a tag fee of R150 when you join Planet Fitness through Sanlam Reality.
    • You will sign agreements with both Sanlam Reality and your gym. When you join the gym, you will be required to give the gym your personal details and financial details, including your bank details for debit order purposes.
    • If you wish to cancel your gym membership, you must do so at both the gym and at Sanlam Reality. The gym determines its own cancellation rules and fees. A 30 days’ notice period applies to members wishing to cancel or change their Sanlam Reality membership option, with fees payable in the notice month. Discounts will still apply if members qualify for payment according to the Sanlam Reality rules.
    • The monthly discount is calculated at a set percentage of 20%. The actual fee you pay is calculated using the specific fee applicable to your home club minus 20% of that figure. This discount is an upfront discount directly at the gym.
    • Planet Fitness may cancel the upfront discount on gym membership if the bank rejects your debit order payments. You will not be entitled to further discounts in the event of bank payment rejections.
    • Planet Fitness may cancel the upfront discount on gym membership if they receive notification that your Sanlam Reality membership is cancelled.
    • The gym will have specific terms and conditions, which will be included in your gym contract.

 

NOTICE: Members are required to attend their respective clubs to record visits with their Tags when accessing the gym or to manually record visits at the Reception should the turnstiles be not operational due to Loadshedding.

JustGym

  • Please refer to the Planet Fitness section above for general gym membership terms and conditions.
  • If you cancel your JustGym membership and choose to reinstate it within six months, the activation fee will be waived.
  • Reality Club, Wealth Bonus Lifestyle and Wealth Bonus Lifestyle for Sanlam Corporate members who opt for local membership at JustGym pay an activation fee of R250 and a tag fee of R150 only.
  • If you are an existing JustGym member, you will still be required to pay the abovementioned once-off activation fee and tag fee in order to use the Sanlam Reality discount.
  • The maximum discount payable every month is R500 per active paying member or spouse and/or dependants.

Sanlam Virtual Doctor

This benefit is available to Wealth Bonus Lifestyle for Sanlam Corporate members.

  • This benefit is only available to SUS members (includes SUF, SERP and Unity members)
  • Virtual consultations have their limitations and cannot fully substitute in-person doctor consultations.
  • Ensuring patient safety is crucial, and the doctor may need additional clinical data through a physical examination.
  • Not all health conditions are suitable for virtual consultations.
